3 days Fes to Merzouga desert
Day 1: Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
Depart from Fez and drive to Ifrane, known for its European architecture and magnificent landscapes.
Continue to Azrou, a small Berber town famous for its cedar forest and its population of magot monkeys.
Continue your journey to Midelt, a town at the foot of the Middle Atlas, where you can break for lunch.
After lunch, cross the Ziz Valley with its verdant palm groves and traditional Berber villages.
Arrive in Erfoud, known for its fossils, and continue to Merzouga, where you will spend the night in accommodation near the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day 2: Merzouga – Visit of nomads and Gnaoua music show
Enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga and discover the desert on a camel excursion.
Visit a nomadic camp and experience the traditional way of life of desert nomads.
Attend a performance of Gnaoua music, a form of Moroccan spiritual music of African origin.
Spend a second night in Merzouga and enjoy the calm and serenity of the desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Midelt – Fes
After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and head to Rissani, a historic town known for its bustling market and its history linked to the Alaouite dynasty.
Continue your journey through mountainous landscapes and Berber villages to Midelt.
Break for lunch in Midelt before heading back to Fes.
Arrive in Fes late in the day, marking the end of your three-day trip from Merzouga.
