Tour Marrakech - Fez 3 days
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorges
At 8 am we will meet at your Riad or hotel and drive over the port of Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m above sea level), the highest mountain pass in Morocco. We will have time to stop and enjoy breathtaking scenery, have coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice while enjoying magnificent views of the mountains and Berber villages. We will take a guided tour of Ait Benhaddou, a World Heritage Site, one of the most spectacular ksours (fortified villages) in Morocco that was once on the route of trans-Saharan caravans as they crossed the Atlas to the fondouks of Marrakech. (This famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films). We will pass through the town of Ouarzazate and continue to the Valley of Roses (where roses bloom in April and May), the Skoura Palm grove with its authentic 17th century kasbah, the valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the Dades gorge. Dinner and overnight in a charming traditional hotel.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Gorges of the Gorges – Merzouga
Departure in the morning to the Sahara Desert (Merzouga) through the Todra Gorges, where you can take a walk to explore these magnificent and narrow gorges where dizzying pink ochre cliffs frame a crystalline and fresh river. Then we will depart for Erfoud through the Touroug palm grove, where we will stop for lunch. Then we arrive in the town of Erfoud to visit a local fossil craft workshop. Continuing with the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi, incredibly beautiful extension of undulating dunes, also known as the Dunes of Merzouga, which you will explore by camel.
Day 3: Merzourga – Azrou – Ifrane – Fez
Wake up to see the sunrise on the constantly changing dunes and take advantage of the slow pace of desert life. After breakfast, we will begin our journey through Rissani and the Ziz Valley enjoying its palm plantation. After lunch in Midelt, we will continue to discover the rural surroundings of the Berber mountains of the Middle Atlas, covered with evergreen pines, tall cedars and poplars intertwined with flowing streams. Our next stop will be in Ifrane for an outdoor walk. Then we will continue towards Fez and end of our services.
